OG7 session in Drupalcon Copenhagen
Finally, we've been able to collect all the movies and edit them together. Unfortunately the quality isn't great in the first few minutes, but it's getting better and I hope you'll enjoy watching it.
Thanks to our "camera guys" - David Mollière and Peter Stumpf (that as it turns out, is really working for the UN and uses OG for that!)
For those who want too see the technical stuff from the session I gave should follow this link. I hope this will encourage people o try out Organic groups for Drupal 7 and help in making it a great module.

Good presentation
Watched the video and enjoyed the presentation.
I'm just starting to learn Drupal due to my work wishing to convert a world wide taxonomic website. In your presentation, you mentioned not seeing a reason why a User should be a group. Well, that is the basis of our website when it comes to permissions. A scientist/professor joins and has their own group based on their user name. They can then invite others to their group (typically grad/undergrads submitting/editng work for them).
I wonder if Organic Groups will work for our situation though. We have various content types (specimen, image, location, etc) being submitted by users/groups that can be public or private. I believe you said in your presentation that a person needs to be part of the group in order to see that group's content. Is it possible to enable groups to submit public vs private content? Where other users not in the group see the content?
As well, in making a user a group type, I see those fields on the user's settings page. They can change their type so they are not a group. I could not find any place to disable them from changing it. Any suggestions?
Sorry if this is the wrong place to post questions. If it's wrong, I'm more than happy to post in a forum or something if you point the way.
Thanks for the presentation.. it did help me along some.
